What is Seven for Seven?
There's an orphan crisis in Haiti. Many loving parents drop their children off at an orphanage with the hope that an orphanage can provide their children with more opportunity then they as parents can. This is an injustice. We believe in order to partner with parents, orphanage managers & children that we must help provide opportunities for children to have better opportunity without making parents feel they must abandon their children to do so. The Pastor & his wife who run the #7 orphanage in Montrouis, Haiti, have started a school with the hopes that this will keep children out of the orphanage system while still providing opportunities for vulnerable children at risk.
Seven for Seven is a fundraising campaign put together to support the school at #7 Orphanage. We are coming together as individuals from all over the world to put forth our best effort to aid in supporting the school & the education of these children. By providing an education & a hot meal for these children we are supporting the school & aiding in orphan prevention. It costs $12,000 a year to run the school - this amount includes educational resources, teacher salaries, one hot meal a day per child & is working towards building a more permanent presence of the school in this community. We want to empower Pastor & his wife to continue to raise up these children & protect them by educating them & empowering them. Seven for Seven is just that! It's individuals coming together financially to support Pastor & his wife in caring for these children. We are asking that you put $7.00 (or more if you feel led) out of your monthly income towards this cause! We need 1,700 individuals to donate $7.00 in the month of December to reach our goal of $12,000 for the 2015!

If 1,700 people donate $7.00 we will reach our goal for #7
A Word from Stephanie Robinson
Our relationship with the #7 orphanage dates back to 2010- the year that Haiti was struck with a massive earthquake. In this time, many orphanages opened their doors for the impoverished who could not care for their children. As there are many ways for this system to become an even bigger injustice, we were so excited to meet a Haitian couple whose hearts were to raise up children at risk and protect them. While there are 45 children there currently, they are making great strides to work with us as we help the children reunite with their parents. In addition to that, they are making great strides at giving the community orphanage alternatives- such as education.
The Pastor and Madam started a school at their children's home 2 years ago. Since the moment their gates to the school opened, they have been stretched financially but also encouraged at the amount of children whose parents are involved with their children's education and well being. This school gives children a free education (which is not always offered in Haiti), a meal every school day and more than that- gives children who would other wise be dropped off at an orphanage gates the ability to go back home with their families.
We have worked with the orphanage since 2010- helping with their clean water and sanitation needs through Justice Water; helping with their need for food (and their desire to provide for themselves via farming) with an international church partnership and working alongside the Pastor and Madam. Our goal is to continue to empower these hard working Haitian men and women to serve the children at risk in Montrouis and to help prevent loving families from dropping off their children at an orphanage for a hope for a better life for them.
